Default mercury Power tilt/trim wiring

Hello, I have a Mercury 150 (1985) model, we stripped the boat to redo the floor, and put the tilt/trim motor/reservior back in and now it doesnt work? Its the free standing type with the motor/pump on top of the reservior. It has a terminal for the 12+ and a grd-, and a three prong plug. All that is in, I took the handle off the throttle control, it has the up/down switch on top and trailer button below it. I grounded the Brown wire to the battery and then both switches work perfect? I need to know where this brown wire goes, and where does it get its ground, or is this wrong? Thanks! I would love to get a wiring schematic for the control and also what is the half circle type female plug that plugs into the front of the control? Tom PS. If someone has a wiring schematic for this please email it to me at tpatterson140@yahoo.com

The three prong round plug on the front of the MerControl operates the tachometer.

The PTT wires in the round plug on the PTT pump should be +12v (red), blue (up) or green(down). If you jumper from the red wire to the blue wire on the PTT pump connector, the motor should tilt up. If it doesn't you need to find out why there is no power on the PTT Pump red wire.

thanks? Your not talking about the Postive wire that goes from the battery to the TT unit, you are talking about a red wire from the controls back to the unit, Right?

Thanks! I found a wiring diagram, someone had a red wire off the ign switch tied to the brn/white wire . That wire did nothing? My schematic showed the brn/white wire grounded to the PTT and now it works great. Of course the limit switch is bypassed, but thats fine. Have a great summer!
