question about 70hp evinrude water pump

I have a 70 hp evinrude outboard motor. Not sure of the year, probably in the early nineties. I think I have a water pump problem. I need to know how to be sure before I drop the lower foot and open that can of worms. Please help me any way possible.

What makes you think you have a water pump problem? Guessing is not diagnosing and once you have it apart, you might as well replace it -- you'll never have a better chance. If it has never been replaced, or not in the last few years, it is due for replacement. See where this is going? :)
