Holes in my boat

Hi all,

I have pin prick holes all over my boat, inside and out.

Just bought the boat, didn't see it in the water. Wont see until this weekend after her refurbishment if she sinks.

Are the holes bad painting with air bubbles that burst, natural air pockets in GRP or something more sinister like fibreglass mites?:confused:

Insects seem to appear in everything so I googled fibreglass mites and cant find anything. That leaves me with 1 or 2??

help please.

What kind of boat?

How big are the holes?

How deep are the holes?

Are they limited to the area of the hull that would normally be under water?

How many holes per sq ft, 10, 100, 1000 ?

ahhh yes.....the dreaded fiberglass mite.....mostly found in back yard shops.....known to inhale both fiberglass and beer alike......watch out for those little suckers......they will make all you beer dissappear.!

they are uasually bread when someone paints a boat with out good prep and use the wrong kind of paint......it leaves little microscopic pin holes all over the boat....

the fiber glass mites live in these holes and drink your beer.....;)

Time to bring out the grinder and the shop vac:D Hi oops welcome back;) do you think a new Gelcoat would fix this pin holes?

haaa haaa haaaa new gell goat fixes a multitude of problems.....but its not where i would start!...lol
