rough idling shuts down, high does 1500rpm rough, when moving above idling high to top end is no problem (it boogies) I purchased motor 1989-90 new used it seldom till retirement. It always starts great but now starts but wont idle untill more throttle is applied, about 6mon ago had a tune up at a marine shop the idle is the same. maybe carbs need a kit ? any suggestion? if so please give the part numbers help!!!!!

check your compression and spark on all cylinders. that is a great motor, i suggest that you change all your fuel lines to alcohol resistant lines. Ethanol softens the inside of the old lines and contaminates the carbs.
