Does any one have some advise as to were I could start with fixing this problem? I have a 1994 force outboard 90 hp . The power trim will always go up fine , but will intermittently get stuck and not go down unless I keep pressing the switch repeatedly. Also I can usually get it to go down only if I trim it completely up all the way. I checked the fluid and it was full but topped it off anyway. Its still getting stuck

if you do not hear the trim running would suspect a bad relay find the 2 identical relays under the engine cover and unplug them and swap the wires if the problem reverses so now it goes down but dont want to go up would replace the relays or atleast the bad one, if it remains the same would look at the switch.

I am having the same problem with my 76 Mercruiser. I know mine is not a problem with the relay, I can hear the pump try to work but it seems as something is stopping it. I'm wondering if the reverse lock-out valve may be sticking.

hard wire it before you assume relays are good. Gravity should pull engine down even if pump not working. It is darn near impossible for a pump to work well enough to lift but not be able to open reverse check valve.
