I have a 24ft pontoon with a 115 on the back, I was curious as to what most people have for there props on there toons. Do you have a 3 or 4 blade and waht size motors get "you" the best results. I am looking to get a happy medium prop. I want something that gets out of the water good, but also won't over rev the motor when cruising. Yes I know I should give you details on what RPM's I am running now, but all I want is a couple of experienced prop responses from people who are currently using the prop.. I know what I have might be different to the guy next to me, but I also want to know is the 4 blade better than 3, if so why or why not? Thanks for the help!

I also have 24ft with merc 115 currently run 14 x 13 3 blade Turning Point Hustler.

I have had toon out twice fully loaded and get 5000 rpm at wot.

Guessing 26-28 mph will verify this spring with gps.

11x11 - 40HP Suzy 4-stroke on 18 ft Misty Harbor. That said, there is only one prop for your pontoon and it generally isn't what someone else has. The correct prop (whether 3 or 4 blade) allows the engine to rev to the upper end of the manufacturers recommended RPM band at wide open throttle with an average load. Speed will be whatever that prop produces. If the prop is wrong at WOT it is wrong at all other throttle and load settings. Pontoons generally perform best with pontoon specific props. Three blades can work as well as four blades but a four blade, elephant ear prop (pontoon specific) works very well and can provide more thrust in reverse so docking is more controlable.

three blade 15x15.5

This is how it came from the dealership though - I don't think I'll be sticking with this.

On My 22' Avalon I use a 14 x 13 pitch 3 blade with a 115 hp Mercury 4 stroke. I get about 5200 WOT. I tried an 11 pitch, but get too much cavitation.
