On my Johnson outboard, I have a inline fuel filter and water/fuel separator filter. Can I remove the inline fuel filter and allow the water/fuel separator do the job?

Also, what is the best clamps to use on the fuel and oil lines to prevent air leaks?

yes you can, Johnson recommends the fuel line zip ties.

Thank you. I will replace them.

Also, I notice some leaking of oil from the oil line to the VRO. Can that cause the engine to run rough and smoke because of an air leak?

An air leak in the oil line will cause the engine to run lean. It could cause the VRO to supply insufficient oil.

Do not use tie straps on the oil system, use the rachet type clamps available from your dealer.
