I believe, but not sure, that I have a 1983 Merc 150 engine with a bad trim motor. To store the boat in our shed we have to lower the engine completely to make it fit. Not we need to get it out and serviced, but with the engine down, we can't take it anywhere.

I'm looking for a way of disengaging the hydraulics so we can physically lift the engine into the brace for moving. I've read in other threads that some engines have a screw that when turned can either engage or disengage the hydraulics. Neither my stepfather or I can find anything resembling that screw anywhere on the engine. Can anyone point me in the right direction, or in the right place??

it would be on the tilt trim motor in the boat, if it has one.it would be a knob sticking out just below the reservior.
