hey everyone, love the site, been trolling for a while now, but i really need some confirmation on a few things...
i am looking at getting a 2001 4 stroke 60HP merc w/ tilt/trim. It has tiller steering and i want to convert it to remote, if i buy it.
i have searched 26 pages so far with very little help.
from what i have been able to gather..
there is a conversion kit that seems to cost about $94US. does this sound about right?
if so, all that i would still need would be the control box and gas tanks? my current boat has remote steering so i would not need to replace that,
i currently have a 1988 yamaha 40hp , would i need anything for the motor swap in regards to steering?
as a final question, do you think that $3800 CDN would be a good price, barring any problems with the motor, the pics show normal scratched on the cover but nothing looks bad. Of course i would hook up some muffs and make sure it runs good. pull the plugs look for bad crap..
also while im here, what would a few things for me to look for, IF i decide to go look at this motor?
thanks ever so much,
-robert
