Lower Unit Help

I know almost nothing about boat engines, so I need a little bit of help.

I was inspecting my boat the other and notice a damaged part, but I do not know what it is even called. On the lower unit I see a nut (looks like a lug nut) then a propeller... Where the propeller goes into the lower unit there is a round metal piece that I think is connected with two bolts. It is kind of like a collar that the propeller fits in and then it is bolted to the lower unit. This is the piece that is broke? Any help is appreciated.

The motor is a Mercury 100hp and I think the year is 1988, but I am not sure. The serial number is below. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!!

Re: Lower Unit Help

are you talking about the gear that you slide the prop on to? The part that actually spins the prop?
Or is it just a plate behind the nut that holds the prop on?

Re: Lower Unit Help

It is not a gear?. It is the last piece of metal that I see before the prop goes into the unit. Basically it goes completely around the back of the prop and then bolts at the top and bottom into the ?unit?. Kind of like a washer or something but it bolts at the top and bottom?. I am not exactly sure what it does?

Okay I see the part that I need from the diagram that you sent, but I am not sure it is #64. The part I need is the one that parts 60, 61, and 62 go into?. Does that make sense? Thanks!

Thanks for your help? It looks like it is part of part #52 the BEARING CARRIER ASSEMBLY, but I am not sure.
