Just curious, how much are you spending on technology each month total - internet service, cell phone, TV service...?

Dish: $88.00
Cell: $37.00
Broad Band: $46.00
Land Line: $20.00
Total: About $188.00

I guess I could get rid of all of that but then I'd only need one bullett ($ 0.50 ?) to kill myself out of boredom.;)

Mine is about the same as T2f's. May be cutting back on the DSL and sat. package here directly to try and save a little.

The guys I work with are spending in between $100 & $150. I thought $150 was on the high side.

Cell phones for wife and I: $60
Cable internet (no television): $40
----------------------------------
Total: $100

We only use our cell phones, so no use for a land line. We don't watch television and I can't think of anything I would want beyond a cell phone and internet access.. a robot maid?.

Re: Technology Utilities Cost

about 7 tanks of gas for my boat. or a little over 90 dollars for phone and internet and I thought I was paying an outrageous price:eek: People have called offering me an introductory price of 99 dollars a month for cable, phone and internet but they wouldn't tell me what the price would be after the introductory period was over so I told them I guess you don't want to sell me your service:confused:

$50 for cable high speed internet
$20 for basic cable tv
$70 for cell service
$40 for land line
$180

high speed internet and cell service i have for business purpose and are must haves if i want to continue in biz. which of course i do...

me and the old lady have discussed removing the land line. she just recently got a cell phone, so it might make sense to do away with the land line. havn't done it yet, but it will be the first thing to go if i start getting any closer to the edge than i already am..

Re: Technology Utilities Cost

I happened to be on Verizon today. They have $79.99 internet-TV-Phone "special". The price is goo d for the first year and has some rebates too. I got on the live chat and asked about the price after the first year. I was told I would have the oppurtunity to renew my existing plan. The only problem was that they couldn't give me the details of what was actually included. But I have a dial-up line I don't really use any more but still pay $15 a month for and the landline runs about $55. So this option is looking real actractive to me.

Re: Technology Utilities Cost

Cell phone and cable internet, that's it. I get basic TV with the cable internet, but hardly ever watch TV, so I don't need HBO, ESPN, etc. I also gave up having a "landline" in the house about ten years ago. My cell phone is with me at all times, so I don't need a house phone. Not having one also makes life much easier, because one phone number will get me anywhere I am.

I have also used technology to reduce the need for technology. I do send and receive documents frequently, but no longer use a fax. Instead, I bought a scanner, so that I can send documents as a PDF, via email. The people that I do business with have the same capability, so faxes and a telephone line to send/receive them, are no longer necessary.

Direct Tv $50
Phone $15
DSL $29
2 cells $45
total $139 or less than 4% of my monthly income.

What Verizon does,'t tell you is that once you change to their fiber optic system you can't go back to copper service. Also I will need to upgrade my internal wires to get full advantage of fiber optics speed.
