1995 Mercury 40 hp 4 cylinder Impeller Replacement.
Ok,I have the manuel,I have the impeller,I have the tools to remove the lower unit.Anything thing else I might need to change my impeller.Thanks in advance.It is getting hot here in Arizona.

it went very easy.it is done,and very cool.I'm glad that I did it myself.saved $185.00.Even with the parts on hand,they wanted that much.the only thing that I see that could go wrong,is if you had a very bad impeller,and the pieces of rubber got caught.In there somewhere.Mine was all in one piece though.

I just bought the impeller ay NAPA for $20.
NAPA did not have the kit, and I reasoned that the engine gets routine exercises every month on the muffs, and runs only in fresh water, and there is a steady but weakened stream at hi-idle now -- all encouraging me that it is likely just a worn impeller and hopefully a sound gasket.
I am gonna risk doing a change on my own. I am legally blind, but a glutton for punishment! Any advice as to how to gently separate the impeller housing from the gasket that separates it from the wear plate?
