I need a Bendix drive for my starter on a Mercury 125 outboard. I like to stick with O.E.M. parts whenever possible. Is there a difference between getting a Mercury Bendix vs a Quicksilver? The dealer said they are the same part in a different package.

Quicksilver has always been a Mercury brand name at first for accessories and today for a parts that will fit multiple brands of engines like Mariner and Mercury.
