Re: still another foam question

Usually in an aluminum boat the foam is in the seats, under the gunales.... are you considering putting foarm in such a tight area I would go with foam blocks cut to fit. Water will find it's way past the blocks to drain.

Expandable foam in a 1/2" area would not be worth the money.

Got any pictures of what you are working on? Post them.

To expand just a little on Bob VT's comment..
If you are going to have the boards up replacing foam on your tin can, use Gluvit sealer at and below the waterline on your boat. This will ensure a nice dry bottom, and dont we all like that!;)

Re: still another foam question

sorry i wasn'y clear, i wasn't going to install the foam in the flutes, it was going to be above the flutes

do i need to protect the bottom of the foam in some way so so as the water is traveling in the flutes that the foam is not picking up moisture --- or will the foam remain dry or have a the chance to dry because the water would be moving in the bottom of the flutes?
