not sure if this should be in electrical or here but i have a cable going from the engine to remote.. than the long battery cables and can figure out exactly where they go.. i have no where in the rear of the boat for fuses or busbars.. so i feel like they go into the motor.. i have a loose bolt in there but cant find the other.. i was stupid and didnt take pictures before i took the motor off

its a 77 evinrude 55hp.
the loose bolt is on top of that black box where the red cable is opposite of the starter.

Re: Engine power

Here's a link that will help you and save you a lot of money and problems: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1977...90286057608QQptZMotorsQ5fManualsQ5fLiterature

In the meantime, the large red plug connects to the large red plug in the main wiring harness on the boat,. The positive battery cable connects to the top, large post on the starter solenoid and the negative battery cable is bolted to the engine block (negative ground).

All of the wiring connectors look as though they need to be cleaned, thoroughly.
