well i havent tested out the electric start yet and hopely my solanoid is good. the guy said he used the starter maybe 10 years ago.

well im not sure if this guy has a float charge? but most likely we wont use the boat all the time but the motor doesnt have an alternator to charge the battery. so i dont wanna worsen the battery by having it dead. so maybe a deep cycle might be the choice. then there is the dual purpose batteys

well how much cca do i need i heard some where aorund 600+.

A standard 24 series marine deep cycle/starting battery is best. Charge it every few weeks, if you do not have any addtional electrical devices. That motor is easy to pull start, BTW....

ya its easy to pull when its warm. almost easy as my ten horse. just that starting cold i cant get more then 2 compression strokes in and is a bit hard when cold. just that i never had a electric start boat and could be a nice feature.

what do u mean 24 series? 24volts? bit much u think? i think 12 volts would be fine

i just needed ur opionions and advice on what kind of battery. like cca how many?

24 series batteries are the normal size found in medium size cars. They are 12 volts. 27 series batteries are the kind found in large cars, like 1970s Caddys. If you could get a Marine deep cycle/starting battery (this kind is available at some places) that would be ideal.

keep it charged, it will be fine. it really does not take much juice to start those motors.

I keep a solar trickle charger connected to my battery on the pontoon and it keeps it charged all summer without any additional charging. Of course, the pontoon is in the water all the time and exposed to the sun.
