Building New Casting deck...

Hey there guys, I've got a 75 Delta, 14 or 16ft tri hull fishing boat. I have started tearing it down to extend the front deck back about 2 more feet for added space and storage. So, I am now at the point of no return... Anyway, I need to frame up this addition to support my weight and make it structurally sound. I will need to bond pressure treated wood to the inside of the hull for a starting point for the framing. Question is, what can i use to bond these two materials together? I know epoxy will bond wood-to-fiberglass, but what brand, where can i get it, and so on...what about wood-to-wood? I will be adding storage compartment doors to access the inside from the top. I need to devise a lip around the edge of the door to keep the door from falling inside the compartment. Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated, and i will try to post some pictures of the teardown ASAP.
Thanks
John

you can glass the wood right to the hull using either epoxie or polyester resin and mat, just grind the surface a little to give it some tooth make sure the plywood isn't green (wet) fresh treated ply sometimes is still wet, sometimes not just depends on how long it's been on the shelf. wood to wood is doable too no problem, look on e'bay for a hatch they not all that expensive, a 12"x24" hatch can be had for around $50.00. some are quite expensive though you just have to search for deal.http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/TEMP...6809399QQptZBoatQ5fPartsQ5fAccessoriesQ5fGear

Here are a few pics of the finished product, you can see where the original deck ended, where the black carpet ends. Whatcha think? Not too bad for the first shot at fiberglassin/major boat boat work. Took around 12 hours in all.

Nice job, KB

I like it, it looks good.

How is the weight and balance now compared to before your mods? Does it plane off well. I've always thought tri-hulls tended to plow a little bit.

Maybe the ones I've been on have been under powered.

Cheers and keep up the good work.

Well, i've got to fix a hydraulic line before i can give her a test ride, but with the 65 on it she usually has no problem getting up and on plane... especially with the hydrofoil on it. Actually when i was a kid we used to ski behind it with 3 people in the boat. haha. Thanks though.
