I have a 4.3L Volvo Penta with an SX drive... 205 HP... Mounted on a 20' Cobia bowrider... My question is if anyone can tell me what the original equipment prop size was? I bought the boat last season, and have only taken it out once. It currently has a new prop installed by the previous owner that's a 14.8 x 17 aluminum style. We plan to pull a tube for the kids and I need to buy a back-up prop to keep onboard. I need a starting point to determine if the previous owner already reduced the pitch to 17 to accomodate for the towing/skiing or if not, do I need to drop it further to get more response from the prop? Any help you can give this "rookie" would be great! Thanks!
