I bought a boat that had a blown 1992 115hp Johnson on it and I swapped it with a 1975 115hp Johnson until i can get a 4-stroke. With the help of this forum I am down to connecting the steering, thanks everyone! My current issue is the 1992 engine used a Seastar HC5340-42 steering cylinder that won't mount to the 1975. I emailed teleflex but they don't make an adapter and want me to send a picture of the steering to see if they can come up with something. I will take some pictures tonight but I was wondering if anyone has dealt with this issue before? If need be I am looking at thier side mount cylinder HC4648, will this work? I don't really want to convert it to mechanical unless I have too.

teleflex can tell you far better than us. steering and connectors are their specialty.
