1988 mercury XR4 power trim/tilt problem

I love 2 fish but dont know that much about boat motors, when I hit the swich it just makes a clicking sound and it wont go up or down got any ideas?

flat battery
faulty trim pump motor
broken wire
siezed tilt tube

Find a multi-meter, a wiring diagram and start troubleshooting, or you could just take it to a shop.
