Impeller could be installed backwards

I have a copy of the OMC service manual detailing a 1995 30hp Johnson. It has two pictures where you've removed the water pump with drive shaft and pulled it out of the lower unit. Now you've flipped it over and you're looking at the impeller.. one picture has the impeller blades going from right to left, meaning the drive shaft turning clockwise from this perspective (I think this is wrong).

It's my understanding that with the water pump installed so you're looking at the drive shaft sticking out, the shaft should rotate clockwise (forward gear rotation). This would mean that looking from the underside when you're putting the impeller into the water pump, the blades should be going from left to right (counter clockwise rotation.. from this perspective).

I'm sure this is basic stuff but I'm a newbe and the Manual seems to have it both ways.

The impeller blades should point the opposite direction of rotation.
In bothe front and reverse gear the drive shaft rotates in the same direction - clockwise - the blades shoulb be bent counter clockwise.

99% of the time they will corrrect themselves, if installed backwards.
