It is a early 80's model. Put it in the garage to replace fluids and change
steering cable. Well I charged the batteries, and went to run and all I got was Click. Here is the trouble shooting I did.
Played with controlls to make sure it was in neutral. Still click.
Verified charge on batteries. still Click
Verified power to solenoid on motor. Got 13 volts and Click
Checked with meter across solenoid. Click
Had wife turn key while checking power to starter solenoid on motor. Nothing.
and Guess? click

Seem to think I have a bad solenoid on motor (starter solenoid)

What do you guys think.

Did you encounter a strange burned smell ? The selenoid should still click even if the starter has gone bad, it's brushes or windings may be bad. I have also encountered the same if the starter was in a bad bind. The selenoid may be doing it's job but the starter cannot. Hope that helps. Good luck.

You could easily have enough voltage to trip the solenoid but not have enough to engage the starter, especially with bad battery cables or corroded connections. Try jumping the starter directly and see if will turn.

If your battery is still reading 12.7 volts 24 hours after charging, it is probably OK.

BTW, that's a I after the C in your model number.

yes forgot to say I jumped from the 12 volt side of the solenoid to the starter and it did engage and turn the motor

try jumping for the 12 volt side of the solenoid, to the small contact, closest to the 12 volt post on the solenoid. if this works, it is not the solenoid. wireing from solenoid to control or ignition switch. i usually use a remote stater switch for this.
