I was reading through the posts but never found mine but it seemed alot of mercurys close to that year was 50:1 so I was making sure mine was

50 : 1 is correct

Most importantly, always make sure that you have a QUALITY two-stroke oil with the designation TCW-3

Generic 2-stroke oils for your weed-wacker or chain saw won't provide the lubrication protection REQUIRED of a marine application.

Also, do not mix brands of oil, even tho they may both be TCW-3 rated, different manufacturers use different formulations to achieve the same standard, their formulas may NOT be compatable together.
