Been readin this board for a while, some good info. Thought I'd join up.

My fiberglass work boat is out of the water. Paintin and inspecting the bottom the other day, noticed a couple small chips(1/2 the size of your pinky's nail) in the forward part of the bottom, just below the waterline where the boat had been hit hauling some gear. There is one chip that doesn't even appear to be all the way through the gelcoat, with a small hairline crack maybe 1/2" long radiating off the one side of the chip. Also one 1/2" long hairline crack directly next to this chip. I don't believe these to be structural, as they are hairline small cracks and apparently due to an impact.

Want to get some opinions from glass/gelcoat people on here...sound structural and what's the best repair? I've sanded the bottom paint off, and was thinkin to apply some Marine Tex, sand, and paint. The cracks are gelcoat cracks and I think that digging them down and doing a marine tex patch might not be worth it as they are very small.

Thanks.
