I have a 1989 75hp Mariner 3cyl OC170850 that has a deteriorating lower mount/ yoke. It has a lot of play in it, can move engine a good 1/2" forward/backward at the lower mount. I need to replace the bolts and hardware to the lower mount (yoke). Part# is 42930A 1. Does anyone know what is included in this kit? Are 2 kits required for the lower mount. The sizes available are long vs. x-long. I am assuming I need long, 20". ANyway to tell if i actually have x-long based on serial # of motor? Thanks in advance.

Re: Lower mount kit for 75hp Mariner

I hate lower mounts. Gotta tear the whole darn motor down. Old stubborn rusty bolts. You have my empathy.
Each mount is separate. Dunno about the 75, but there ain't much more than a bushing.
Check the pivot shaft when you get her apart. I did lower mounts on a 25 once and didn't know the shaft was compromised. I found out the hard way it broke (due to the bad mounts) and came as close as I ever have to going airborne in a hydroplane at 55 mph.
