Where do I find the model and serial number on Evinrude Sportwin.

Hello all. I'm new here and hoping to glean some useful information from the site.

I have an Evinrude Sportwin motor of a friends that he want's repaired.

I was wondering for starters, where I might locate the model number and serial number to start digging for information?

Thanks all and I will be picking some brains with other questions later.:)

The Sportwin name was used for many years. Need a better clue than that. Horsepower? Cowling? If it isn't an antique, look on the port side stern bracket for a riveted-on metal tag.

It's a 9.5 hp and it does look relatively old. White upper and blue lower cowling with a lower profile. I would guess either 50's or 60's vintage.

The 9.5 low profile was made from 1964 thru 1973. Numbers where I said, port stern bracket and a duplicate on a round coin-sized disc on the powerhead. If both have been removed, there is a good chance it is stolen.
