Go to http://shop2.evinrude.com/ and follow the prompts to the 1968 65hp with heavy duty gearcase, model numbers 65832 & 65833. That is the same old fat-50 gearcase used in 1958-59. You will have to pick out and order individual parts.

32 is short shaft, 33 is long. Doesn't much matter except for the drive shaft number.

Re: LU seal kit for fat fifty??

ok one more thing. heres my situation. my parts manual is for a johnson 1959 50hp v4s, v4sl - 11 and 11b.

as i said before i have a '59 fat fifty (evinrude). i need one more part 305604. it connects the throttle cable to the engine. can i get this part from evinrude site we are discussing? would be great if i could. thanks. also, if you have a 59 evinrude parts manual and could look up the part number for my exact engine that would be awsome.

Re: LU seal kit for fat fifty??

The 1959 did not come with that tilt support bracket. Somebody has modified it. 1959 had a plunger pin in one stern bracket to hold it up for beaching and launching, and a threaded screw on the other bracket, similar to the transom clampscrews to lock it up for trailering. Neither part was successful, often (usually) broken.

Head gasket 305174 was changed to 553753. It is available here at iboats as 18-2955.

305604 throttle lever...My '59 book is a Johnson also, but I can't think of any reason it would be any different than Evinrude for that part. But I have to assume it is not used on any later models listed on the Evinrude site. Dealer item, sorry.

Wondering about my previous comments, I went back to the parts book. Where did you find that part number 305636? It isn't in any of my 1959 books.

Re: LU seal kit for fat fifty??

One thing that I have discovered about many of the part numbers that BRP now uses, is that they have replaced some of the older part numbers. That being the case, seeing a different number on shop.evinrude.com, doesn't necessarily mean that it is a different part than what was listed in a very old parts manual.

Re: LU seal kit for fat fifty??

ok one more, the gasket on the water pump housing is shown below the plate in the parts diagram on shop2.evinrude. and listed as a plate to houseing gasket. i know in the past i put it inbetween the plate and the housing, and put gasget sealer on the bottom side of the plate. is this correct or does it go as its shown on the parts diagram?

one more thing, there is no gasket shown in my johnson parts manual.
