I have a "project" motor that I am working on and I'm fairly certain that I need new a new coil on one side (burned casing) and probably points, etc. My problem now become how to get parts for it. I cannot locate ANY identification #'s on the outboard. None on the block, freeze plug, upper or lower units. I've searched the internet and been totally flustered by the lack of any "WorkTwin" information. I see Light Twins, Big Twins, etc... but no WorkTwin, so I cannot even get close to a year without some help from you all. I think I can get her running again if I can get some parts/ID.

But I still cannot ID a year for it. They all look about the same from 1975 - 1982.

Judging by the looks of this motor, it looks to be late 70's or early 80's. It looks like it's seen some salt water. This motor shouldn't have points. It should be electronic ignition and the coils are mounted on the side of the block, by the head. So, you may just need to replace the coil that is bad.
