I have a 2007 115 four stroke and it has a safety feature that over 2000 rpm it returnes the engine back down automaticaly with no warning. I run the boat shallow sometimes and the current may force me to go up in RPM to avoid somthing (ROCK). Before you know it the engine drops down and is now hitting the bottom. Can anyone tell me how to stop this!! Dose anyone know what is is looking to determine this so I can cut it out!!!:(:(

Re: My 115 merecury tilt issue

You have the one tilt cylinder and two trim ram systems right? If so, the hydraulic system automatically tilts down when power is applied. I do not know if there is a fix for this, since it is inherent to the hydraulics. You can try putting your thumb on the PTT switch, when you need to increase power. At least the engine will tilt up faster, when you reduce power.

Alternatively you could get a power jackplate and raise the engine up when in shallow water.
