I have a 1971 55HP Chrysler. Model 557HC serial 3188. I tried over and over to set idle. It is my understanding that it should be about 750 RPM. I can not get it below 1000 before the engine dies. Now that I am writing this I am thinking maybe my Tach is not accurate. Once I get near 1000, (if at all) you can see the motor shake, spit, sputter and know it is going to die. The tach is original. Can bearly see thru lens to read. LOL. Boat is a 1977 starcraft. Thanks
