My evinrude 200hp 89 model has some slight scoring in some of the cylinders. The worst is so slight I have to try hard to catch it with a fingernail. Is this something I should address now if the compression readings are ok?
Thanks

Re: Cylinder scoring

Thats a open deck block and there will always be a little scuffing in them like you found. I would do a decarbon on engine, install new head gaskets and up high speeds 1 size (part #328544) and run it!!

Re: Cylinder scoring

If your VRO is operating correctly, the 1 up size will add additional lubrication as it is richer. You will be going from a 62D to 63D jet.

Re: Cylinder scoring

I recently disabled the oil induction half of the vro and will be premixing. Will I still benefit from the jet change.
Thanks,David
