Boysen reeds?

Alright so i want to tune up my 1982 evinrude 70hp and give it some more power and i was looking at boysen reeds are they any good? worth the money? Also what other performance modifications can i do?

I don't think you will get any more power. You should notice better idling and take off response.

I figured as much has anyone had use with these do you think its worth it? Also im looking into raising the compresstion by milling the head and or getting thinner head gaskets does anyone know were to get high comp or thinner head gaskets?

Cheap horse power is boat set-up, and propping. Get the power out of the engine that is already there. Forget the head planing, you would probably see zero gain, and a great loss in reliability. What is your RPM now? If not to spec., work on that.

im running within about 100rpm of what i should for max rpm depending on weight in the boat and conditions. What would you suggest?
