Hey guys the problem i seem to have is that the carbs seem to be dumping way too much fuel into the motor. i cleaned the carbs about a week ago and it ran fine. i had to fiddle with the trim today cause of an air bubble than after i got that sorted out i tried to run it but it's dumping a lot of fuel out of the exhaust. i let it sit then came back to it and it ran well but still a little rich and all i did was pull the cover off the carbs to see if i could see any of them dumping a lot of gas into the motor. you guys have any suggestions or do i have to pull the carbs apart again and make sure a float isn't stuck or something like that.
thanks
had the same problem with my merc115 same as mariner did you take the floats out and make sure no holes in the floats? and did you change the inlet needles if not make sure they are set properly and clean mercs and mariners seam to have tempermental issues with microbes(hope spelling is correct) :
the fuel pump seems oddly right when i pulled the fuel line while it was acting dumb it ran normal until it ran out of gas. i'll take a look. and if that's not it i'll be ordering new carb guts today.
I figured it out. My key switch is bad and it's causing the primer solenoid to hold open pumping an insane amount of fuel into the intake. Go figure i started to blame myself first.
