Hi Everyone! I have a 1975 johnson 135 (135ETL75) and the problem is with the trim first off a i haven`t had it working a couple years when it did work it would trim up in the driveway and i noticed that it would slowly leak down i haven`t seen any puddles is there a way to fix this? The other problem is that when i press the trim switch on the dash it just clicks at the solinoed and nothing happens. Has this happen to anyone else? Thanks for your time!!

Is the reservoir full of trim fluid? You may need to reseal the trim system if it leaks down. When the trim solenoid clicks, does the motor turn or not? I'd make sure the solenoid is functioning properly first. Bypass it and see if the motor will rotate. If the motor still does not rotate, you will probably need to pull it apart. There were two motors used on that unit. Some parts for the Prestolite motor are still available.

I`ll have to check the fluid level. How would you go about resealing the trim system ? The motor of the trim doesn`t make any type of noise when i press the trim button on the dash i can hear the solenoid click at the back of the boat. I was reading another thread on this site and person was told to changed the stand up valve assembly??? Thank you for the help by the way!!

you can go to http://shop2.evinrude.com/ext/index.aspx?s1=21ec13d3db6c4b1ee16432779e36f92b and get exploded parts diagrams and parts descriptions.

i was going to rebuild mine until i saw there were about 50 o-rings in there.........look at it though, it may be something you are willing to tackle....or replace.

if your tnt is bleeding off with no leaks it is an internal leak.........after markets are around $500-600 and you have to have a good strong transom due to the change in the fulcrom point

First, check the T&T motor by applying positive voltage to the blue wire on the motor, bypassing the solenoid. The solenoid only supplies voltage for tilting up.
