lower unit paint

just bought new to me lowerunit factory paint is good but wrong color
whats the best paint to use on lower and do i need to prime before paint will not be stripping old paint

I would scuff the unit with 800 wet. then prime . go to the engine dealer in tour area and get the oem paint for your model.
