merc 115 low rpm miss?

I have a 2002 merc classic on a nitro 185. At idle it seems to have a miss or a popping noise. When you bring up the rpms it seems to clear out. The spark plugs are new ngk's. The engine has low hours as the previous owner rarely had it out . Any IDEAS??? ENGINE IS A 115 HP.

Welcome to the iboats forum.

Many times on an older outboard the low speed miss is actually the idle circuit on the carbs being clogged (or slightly gummed up). Have you had the carbs cleaned or rebuilt?
