Hello all. After running my motor in a barrel for 10 minutes I have a very small pool of fresh gas sitting in the cover right at the front of the base of the crank case. I've checked all hose connections, and wiped under the carb. and reed plate with a clean rag and found nothing. I've cleaned up the gas tried again and again and I always end up with this little pool of fresh gas. The hoses are new, but I guess that doesn't mean they can't leak. I've just rebuilt the carb. (no gas is leaking out the intake). The motor is running very well at any idle speed I set it to. I just wondered if anyone might have an idea as to where this leak might be coming from. When I got this motor last fall it was filthy beyond imagination and I said to someone then that it's almost like it's been leaking gas for twenty years and pulled down gravel roads without being wiped down. I'm now beginning to think I was right. Thanks for any help/ideas. Rick.

I think you just have to look more closely at it to find where its leaking.

It's a remote tank, yes?. So without running it pump the bulb and keep some pressure on it for 10 minutes,

Try putting some tissues around the carb might enable you to see where its leaking more easily.

Yes the tank is remote. I'll try the tissue idea. I like your idea of not running it and keeping the pressure on the system. That should help eliminate some of my suspicions. Also was thinking of using an inspection mirror last night. This is really bugging me. The hose from the gas connection to the fuel pump lays right on the bottom of the cover and I'm starting to wonder if it has a pin hole. Do you know what the pressure is in the fuel delivery hose before the pump? I was thinking of air testing it but I don't want to balloon it. I'll keep looking. Thanks, Rick.
