my 92 4ohp Merc has no spark. have checked kill switch which is in the off positition. What next.

Thanks Laddies,
Will try and work my way through your info. Having no knowledge of marine motors (or any motors for that matter) is THE PACK that box on the side of the motor? Sorry for my ignorance.

The switch box is on the starboard side which is right if your at the rear of the boat looking foeward.

Tried to check through Laddies chart but no black and yellow wire that I could see. TO HARD BASKET so took the boat to MERCURY workshop. Received phone call today that the switch box has had it. when I asked the mechanic why that would happen , he replied " it just happens". Can anyone enlighten me as to why.

Usually if the engine loses spark on 1 to 3 cyl it a SW switch in the box or if there is no spark it's the rectifier network.
