Im hoping someone might be able to help me locate a part I require for my motor. I struggled to start my motor this morning and noticed the choke was not engaging. I then realised the spring that connects the choke levers and activates the choke from the solenoid is missing. I remember this spring being very small and im not sure if I can just purchase this from a hardware store or is it a special spring? I do not have a spare parts book but only service manuals.

this is off a 68 diagram but should be the same. is the plunger and small spring still in the solenoid?

Um...Guys..
The 1967 uses the old downdraft carburetor. Choke spring #30 is part number 305907. The spring tension if fairly important to cause the choke to close against manifold vacuum but still let it pull open when it starts to run, preventing flooding

That looks like a '68 Triumph 55HP setup.

Thanks guys. 305907 is the part I am after. Now the next step. Do you know any companies that would stock these?

Any idea on who would make such a special order as I have lost the spring that was on the motor, so I can get a similiar one made up.

What he meant was that a dealer can order it for you by part number. Any Evinrude dealer can do that.

This thread is getting close to 10 years old. Parts availability can change a lot in that amount of time. For best results you should start a new thread and refer to this thread, but you have the part number if it's the same motor.
