I see a 12902C-R, which is a 1979. Don't know what the -R means.

Hey guys thanks for the quick reply!

Maybe a 79 model yous are thinking?

I just rechecked the model number and it is exactly the same as what i wrote. Heres some pictures of the engine. Maybe someone will know by looking at them?

Evinrude 12.jpgI got the same motor and will post you its model number and photo soon. You can tell that
is was a 12 a ghostly 2 appears if you look sharply.
Mine had E-12xxx RSC and A at the end.... after some research on the web i found the following
R S = Rope Start C= Commercial
the A at the end means in Made in Austraila. Also confusingly the serial number badge had
Evinrude Canada Ltd. I hope you find this info useful. I love this engine sort of outperforms many larger
ones, however it pulls out of gear lately usless I tie the level to forward. I think it will need a cluth or something
please if you find parts for it let me know
Here is a link of a video of it moving too.

If you can make it stay in gear, you likely have a bent/gummed up shift fork/cradle. That's good news if you've priced dogs and forward gears!

Thanks buddy, been trying to access this site but for some reason it doesnt work from home.
Thanks for the info.

Now will it cause any damage to use it that way (lever tied) ? till i get it fixed ? and how can i fix it if its a bent /gummed up shift fork / cradle ?

Thanks again
