Im heading upto my houseboat on Lake Eildon on the weekend to service the engine (Volvo Penta AQ125) and replace the timing belt. Does anyone know if I need to pull the harmonic balancer of the front of the crankshaft to get the belt over it? Also is there a timing belt cover as such that I need to remove? I cant remember what the front of the engine layout is in my head. Thanks in advance for any help. Leigh.

Without a manual, the chances of you getting the timing belt changed and the engine running are about ZERO.
So go to the link below and download the manual. Read it.

The pulleys can NOT be all rusty and the tensioner must spin smoothly. If not, you will be replacing the belt again soon. Take your timing light, you will have to retime it.
