I noticed when I tilted my motor up that gas was leaking out of the transom into the back of the boat. I lowered the motor and pulled the cover off and then primed the bubble to see what would happen and eventually gas would shoot out of the top valve of the carberator.

Next I started the engine to see what would happen and as soon as it get's going good gas continuously flows out of the top of the valve.

I'm pretty ignorant when it comes to mechanics and what is going on. Can anyone offer advice.

Many thanks,

If that is your phone number at the bottom of your post you are a brave man.

Your carbs need overhauling, particularly the needle & seat.

How difficult is it to overhaul carbs or what should something like that cost?

Could be a stuck float. If they haven't been serviced in a while overhaul might be a good idea. Depending on your mechanic figure $100 to $150 per carb.

I have a 2002 90 TLRA and am having the same problem. I removed the carbs cleaned them out and blew are and carb cleaner throughout until they looked new. Put the carbs back on and the bottom and upper carbs are still pumping fuel out of the vents. What do I need to replace to fix this problem?
