1972 100HP Evinrude starter solenoid.

I have a 1972 100HP 100293 Evinrude with a bad starter solenoid. Will an automotive start solenoid work? If so which one will work?

automotive solenoid will blow your electronics. this is the correct solenoid.

To be specific, a car solenoid will destroy the safety switch in a mili-second. Then it still won't start and drive you crazy trying to figure out why not, because now you have added a second problem to the first one.
