Wiring Harness for 1975 Mercury 1500 Outboard

I have been looking for a wiring harness. Through the Mercnet site the part number is 3840020. I have had no luck finding this part. The harness I need is 15ft long. It comes in several sizes but that is the one I need. Does anyone know of a universal harness that fits this motor circa 1970-1978. Or is it possible to get the necessary parts to make one that would fit this? Any help would be appreciated. These are the specs for this motor....ID# 4123121...Mercury 1500...1975. Thank you.

The wiring harness for that motor is the same as a whole bunch of motors (70HP-150HP Inline motors) for the years of 1970 - mid-eighties. I recommend you search the surplus yards for one. Any harness with the quick disconnect plug will work, or you can use a newer harness and solder on the quick disconnect plug.
