I have never worked on a OB before. I dont know how lond it has been sence the water pump or impeller has been replaced, from what I read it a very vital part so why take a chance , why not go ahead and replace it or is there anyway to test it to see if it is working . If I do replace it how hard is it. Any tip;s or tricks.
Thanks
Brad

When in doubt replace it. The parts will run you about 50 bucks. The manual is another 35 or so. Get the Seloc manual, it covers the waterpump subject well. I suggest that you get the waterpump kit and replace everything that comes with the kit. The job should take you about two hours the first time and then 30 minutes each time there after. My rule of thumb is to replace the impeller every year during the off season. I've probably replaced a half dozen good looking impellers but I never have to worry about it either.
