My trim motor finally quit. I pulled off the tilt-n-trim unit and was able to remove the trim motor after drilling out the philips SS screws.

The problem I'm now having is finding a replacement trim motor. I checked the online BRP part catalog and the motor listed is a four bolt. Between searching the net and ebay, there a lots and lots of part numbers for 3 bolt motors. My trim-n-tilt unit has a part number on the back but I can't make it out. My guess is: 353010.

Any techniques on how to highlight the part number? I tried a marker and wiping. Since my motor is an SPL, the trim-n-tilt unit might be a different year then 1993.

Thank you!!!

Bring your motor to your local starter/alternator repair shop and have them rebuild it for you. If you are unaware of any in your area, call your local boat dealer and have them reccomend one for you, as they usually send them out as well. If it is beyond repair, although they can usually be rebuilt, we can point you in the right direction for a new motor.

The hydraulic unit in your Ebay listing looks like a PN 391037, used from the early 1980's up to and including 1997.

The 1993 three bolt motor was PN 393988 but has several other OEM numbers, including 393259, 391264, 394176 and 983019.

The aftermarket numbers are Sierra 18-6759 and Arco 6220.

Marine Electric Suppliers, Inc has an aftermarket motor that lists for less than $100. PN T1086M.

To find the diagram and parts for your unit, go to the BRP parts Catalogs site,http://epc.brp.com/default.aspx?brands=ej&lang=e
go to the "Search" window and choose "Advanced" Then enter only "0391037" in the part number block and the year "1993" in the last "Model (optional)" block.
