i have two props. one is brand new, the other has a few sins ie ends featherd and a few minor bends. probably can be straighted out. should i just put on the new and save the old for a spare. or should i wait till the old one gets real chewed up?

Really not a good idea to run a damaged prop.It can cause premature wear
in the gearcase. Also not likely to be efficient.

You should change props now and take the damaged prop to a prop repair service. When it is reworked it will be an execllent spare. Then you will have better performance next year and confidence in your spare.

I recommend you remove the old prop now and get an estimate to recondition it over the winter. Just before you launch next spring, grease the splines and install the new prop. I like to do my spring motor tuning and checkout without a prop installed. it is a lot safer....
