Re: bottom paint

You can try the chemical strippers too or have it soda blasted.

I've been working on removing the bottom paint for a long time with strippers, scrubbing, and wet sanding and feel like a snail. I should have taken it and had it soda blasted (given what I have in it now in stripping supplies), but was working on the trailer too.

I've used several different chemical strippers and wet sanded too. None of them worked very good, so am using the cheaper ones that are safe on fiberglass.

I'm at the point of having most of the gel exposed and can say that ~80% of mine can be restored to original gel by removal and wetsanding and 20% along the keel is going to need repairs (dings and a few pimple size blisters).

with soda blasting, do you have to do anything to the hull after blasting other than waxing??? or does it have to have new gel coat???
