I was traveling down the lake at about 3/4 speed when all of a sudden the moter started to loss power. The power loss was like you just shut off part of the moter.

The boat will slowly get back on plane but the moter has only a little power. The moter will idle and rev up out of gear. I have checked the plugs and I have spark to the pulgs.

I also noticed that the tack stopped working. I dont know if that is related or not.

All help Needed. Dont have a lot money to throw into the moter trying to find the problem.

Borrow a compression guage and a spark tester. Remove spark plugs and check compression. It should be 100psi or higher and cylinders should be within 10 psi of each other. If ok ,install spark tester and check spark on every cylinder. Post back the results and we will walk you thru additional testing. From what you have posted you may have had a stator take a dump. Please post if carb or efi and serial # so we can get you the correct part numbers.
