Default Adding windshield to open aluminum fishing boat?

Has anyone seen or tried adding a full windshield to an open aluminum fishing boat such as a lund?

I'm looking at a G3 V16 Guide with the 84" beam, and wondering how practical it would be to add a full windshield across the boat near the bow?

Thanks!

I'm searching for someone that's done this - did you end up trying it?
If I do i probably won't go across, but instead follow the v shape of the bow. I'm sure I could make it out of polycarbonate and some kind of metal track/seat but I need to figure out how to make it easily removable so it won't interfere with someone fishing from the bow.
That probably won't be too hard, so really what I'm just wondering odd it will look...

What would be the reason for wanting a windshield in the first place?

It's easy enough to put a side console in a Lund, and one of the simple console windshields would work out OK, I'd think.

But, unless you're thinking about setting up steering like a runabout forward, I guess I can't see the point of a windshield on that boat.

For me (16 ft semi V) it will be more of a splashguard. When I'm fishing it isn't an issue, but when I load 3 dogs, a few friends and all the beer, err I mean gear for a camping trip then choppy water can start getting stuff wet.

For that sort of ferry duty it might be easier to make a snap on, ~6ft canvas bow cover and put the gear up front, passengers in the back. They'd probably still catch spray in the back, but that's what a jacket is for

I have a 17 foot Lund that had a side console. I purchased a full walk through windshield, built another console and it turned out great.

I will take pics tomorrow and post them.

Here are a few pics. As you can see I built around the existing console and built the second one from scratch.

I covered them in matching carpets and I made the "dash" out of King Starboard.

I picked up a new old stock windshield from e-bay and I believe it turned out well. Haven't tried it out yet, hoping to get out this weekend.
